Golden Hour

My day usually starts at 7.30am when I will spend half an hour getting ready before making bed. I like to spend first two hours of my day, from 9am to 11am, catching up on handcraft design information, clearing up references and materials.

And this is the concept I want to narrate in this work

I believe that people are always attracted by the unknown and inspired by the undiscovered. From this point onwards, contemporary art or the concepts or ideas of it are manifold and ever-changing because of emotional and economical triggers.



From a simple smile from a stranger on the street, two people obviously in love, a great piece of Louis 16th furniture or a big cloudy sky over our head, and it is up to the individual where he looks.

My definition of contemporary jewelry is: They are very subjective and personal, and I believe that when something gives pleasure to your eyes and to your soul, that’s your contemporary jewelry.

Contemporary art is hard to find and even hard to defined

My design inspiration is spider web.


They are fine and smooth; each of them has different graphic importance. On the other hand, they have their own purposes, some for hunting, and some for living. [Via] Wikipedia


By weaving, the complex but normative shape of spider web has been materialized. With the help of various inspirations, I have created my own gorgeous spider web.

Art is ultimately about emotion because it’s not diametrically about skill. You can have a very skillful work and yet it doesn’t convey emotion. So the MA students have to be articulate about what we are trying to do. Our professor Jivan is of course being articulate by nature. So we all have to learn to describe why work emotionally grips us, why do we find this is a particularly good work. And that is what so exciting by MA course. 

When I was designing this series, I thought of a mood, a way of spider living, of certain form for nature life. The possibility to link the legacy of painting, photography, film and theatre, of my personal graphic research references, with contemporary design and styles. Therefore boring things like spider web sometimes can be interesting thing.
